FINAL: North Florida 11, North Alabama 14. Despite outhitting the Lions 14-10, UNF’s valiant comeback came up short and the Ospreys are eliminated from the ASUN Tournament. Connor Moore led the team by going 4 for 6 with three runs batted in, followed by James Oman, who had two hits and two runs batted in. Additionally, Cade Bush and Mitchell Collins drove in two runs, respectively.

Since the Ospreys won’t receive a bid to the NCAA Tournament, UNF’s season is officially over. Overall, the Ospreys finish the season 27-29, including an 18-13 home record and 15-15 conference clip.

UNF put the first four batters on base, culminating in a three run inning. The Ospreys only trail 13-11 as we enter the bottom of the eighth. However, UNF is three outs away from being eliminated.

When UNF attempts to shrink UNA’s lead, the Lions always seem to have an answer. After UNA plated five runs in the fifth inning, UNF responded with four runs in the sixth to cut the deficit to three, 11-8. However, UNA kept its foot on the gas pedal by answering with two more runs. Currently, the Lions lead the Ospreys 13-8 in the seventh inning.

After Nick Monile walked to lead off the fifth, senior Connor Moore launched a home run to left center field, shrinking UNA’s lead to just two runs. There are still no outs in the fifth inning with UNF trailing 6-4.

North Florida scored its second run of the game on a fielder’s choice RBI by Eric Fouraker. This was after Collins walked and Seth Alford singled to set up the scoring opportunity. North Florida now trails 6-2 in the fourth inning.

Capitalizing off a pair of two-out walks, UNA singles in another run to extend its lead to 6-1. UNF is now batting in the third inning.

Trailing 5-1, North Florida’s offense goes down in order quickly. We’ll head to the bottom of the second inning with UNA leading 5-1.

North Florida has a chance to escape the inning with no more damage, but UNF made a throwing error on a potential inning-ending double play, which added another run for UNA. Nonetheless, new pitcher Jordan Wimpelberg didn’t allow a hit.

Freshman Bryson Treichel gives up his second two-run homer of the inning, extending UNA’s lead to 4-1. UNF will make a pitching change with zero outs still record in the first.

After Monile led off the game with a walk, shortstop Mitchell Collins singled up the middle, bringing home the game’s first run. However, UNA quickly responded with a two-run homer in the home half of the first.

The Ospreys struggle to contain Austin Peay’s explosive offense, allowing 10 runs on 14 hits, including around 20 total baserunners. Offensively, UNF was held scoreless in every inning but the fifth. North Florida will now play North Alabama in an elimination game tomorrow at 2 p.m.

Even though Austin Peay allowed two Ospreys to reach base on free passes, UNF can’t bring any baserunners home. The Ospreys still trail 8-2 as we hit the seventh inning stretch in DeLand.

While he started his outing with a four-pitch walk, reliever Kai Etwaru had retired four straight Governors before allowing a two-out single. Nonetheless, Etwaru still allows zero runs in the sixth. UNF trails Austin Peay 8-2 as we start inning seven.

Taking advantage of a leadoff hit batter, Connor Moore singled up the middle to reduce UNF’s deficit to six. Then, Cade Bush launched a double to score North Florida’s second run with two outs. UNF now trails 7-2 in the fifth inning.

Facing new pitcher Clayton Boroski, Austin Peay tacked on three more runs, with two of them coming from a two-run double. UNF trails the Governors 7-0 as we enter inning five.

Mitchell Collins singled and Ordonez reached base for the second time with a walk, but Alford struck out to end the threat. UNF still trails 4-0 in the fourth inning.

Brody Szako launched a home run deep to center field, extending the Govenors’ lead to 4-0 in this explosive third inning. UNF now trails 4-0.

After putting two runners on base, Gus Freeman deposited a hanging slider from Hendry into left field, giving the Governors a 3-0 lead.

Despite catcher Santiago Ordonez lining a two-out double, the Ospreys failed to continue their two-out rally as Seth Alford struck out looking. Hendry will look to keep this game scoreless in the second inning.

After allowing two singles and a hit by pitch, which loaded the bases for Austin Peay, Hendry forced an inning-ending double play. We’re still scoreless through one inning.
